WELCOME ALL!
Not since Atkins has a diet made such an international splash. The Dukan Diet shares Atkin’s pillar of low carbohydrate consumption. However, this new fad encourages eating anything you want 6 days a week. How does it work? The Dukan Diet breaks down into 4 phases.
PHASE 1 — ATTACK
The Attack Phase consists of pure protein foods and acts as a kick-start to the diet. During this phase, you can eat 67 different high-protein foods, as well as fat-free dairy products and sugar-free gelatin resulting in immediate and noticeable weight loss. You will also eat oat bran, which will be part of the diet through all four phases. You are allowed herbs and spices, sugar substitutes, tea and coffee throughout all four phases. The length of the Attack Phase is unique to each person and ranges from 2 to 10 days.PHASE 2 — CRUISE
During the Cruise Phase you will reach your goal weight, gradually but steadily losing weight by alternating Pure Protein and Protein + Vegetables days. You are allowed 100 different foods as well as spices, sugar substitutes, tea, and coffee. The length of this phase is based on your weight loss.PHASE 3 — CONSOLIDATION
During the Consolidation phase you are at your most vulnerable stage, when the body has a tendency to quickly regain lost pounds. Consolidation is designed to prevent the rebound effect, by gradually returning previously forbidden foods and allowing for two "celebration" meals per week, where you can eat any food you would like. This phase last for 5 days for every pound lost.PHASE 4 — PERMANENT STABILIZATION
This phase is essentially the rest of your life! By this time, you have developed healthy eating habits and will not give in to the temptations of the past. To stay at your goal weight for the rest of your life, you must follow these three simple but non-negotiable rules:- Eat 3 tablespoons of oat bran per day.
- Whenever possible take the stairs rather than elevators or escalators.
- Have a pure protein (Attack) day once a week
On the plus-side, the Dukan Diet gives you long-term management skills and generous flexibility with fruits and some carbohydrates.
Why is walking a prescribed exercise in Dukan Diet?
There are several reasons:
- it the most natural and simplest form of exercise
- it least tiring and almost anyone can do it
- it exercises the greatest number of muscles at the same time
- it is the exercise that most helps you to lose weight (it burns as many calories as playing many sports)
- there is no risk of injury
- it best protects against aging as it contributes to both good physical and mental health

From Rose: DAY 1 of DAY 10 Countdown to more food!!!!
First day on the diet and my tummy hurts LOL. No because of the diet but because it started out like that. I had water most the day with no time to eat something on the list. Luckily I got home and Sammi had already went out and got the stuff we needed for the day or 2 or 3 LOL. So we started preparing our supper. Both of us did this, and we both did the supper for everyone else. Mind you besides us were her husband, my mom, and her two children. So she had marinated some chicken breast in squeezed Lemons juice. And she left the seeds in the pain on the chicken. Guess she thought it might add flavor since we can have no salt!!!! I placed the chicken in the oven while she was doing dishes to catch us up. Then I started our bread, pancake or whatever you call it. Our mission here was to make OAT BRAN taste edible with no sugar or flour or etc LOL. It began with 3/4 c liquid egg white in a carton (LOL), added 3tbsp of OAT BRAN, 3tbsp of NO FAT YOGURT, and mind you this stuff does not taste good alone!!! And 3 tbsp of NO FAT CREAM CHEESE, (This stuff acted like rubber). Then Sammi beat it up as fluffy as she could. And I began to make pancake/bread/tortilla or sponge LOL . Sammi then begin to worry with me doing it we were going to miss out on the crumbs in the pan, so she took over. Good thing to because we ended up with 8 whatever you want to call them about the size 4 -5 fingers. AND THEY WERE FLATTER THEN THE PLATE. I gladly gave out some tiny samples. Then my grandson who is 12 decided he wanted to start the diet with us. LOL We agreed he could wait until we know more about it.
SUPPER TIME of yippee! We both made a sandwich out of the chicken breast and 2 pieces of our homemade sponge. Oh yeah I forgot we ate the others while cooking hahaa.
It was not bad for our first meal. NOT TODAY ANYWAY. And we both drink water with a packet of orange flavoring. And me I spent the rest of the evening drinking water with some apple cider in it. LOL.
